Dear Jonathan,

Thank you for the reply.

To summarize this proposed standard name, then:

Standard_Name: radius_of_tropical_cyclone_defined_by_maximum_sustained_wind_speed

Canonical units: m

Definition:
The great circle distance measured from the tropical cyclone center to the region of sustained 1-minute duration maximum wind speed, as defined by the standard name, tropical_cyclone_maximum_sustained_wind_speed.

Sincerely,

Gary

Will this be acceptable to you?
You are quite right, it should be wind_speed, as in several existing stdnames.

Best wishes

Jonathan
