I do agree with your points 1 to 6.

For 7. resistances names, I would be in favour of keeping as submitted (see my explanations below)

aerodynamic_resistance (m-1 s)
"The "aerodynamic_resistance" is the resistance to mixing  through the boundary 
layer toward the surface by means of the dominant process, turbulent transport. Reference: Wesely, 
M. L., 1989,  doi:10.1016/0004-6981(89)90153-4."

 Do we need to add anything further to the definition? I am wondering if the 
name could be made more self explanatory by making it 
aerodynamic_resistance_to_turbulent_deposition. This is then more similar to 
the canopy resistance name and makes clear what is being resisted!
I would argue that the "aerodynamic_resistance" is already self explanatory in 
the field of air modelling. So I would keep as it is.


canopy_resistance_to_ozone_dry_deposition (m-1 s)
" The "canopy_resistance" is the resistance of a compound to uptake by the 
vegetation canopy. It varies both with the surface and the chemical species or physical state (gas 
or particle)."

Is canopy_resistance due only to stomatal resistance or are there other 
components? Is there another reference where canopy_resistance is defined as a 
term?
The generic term is 'bulk surface resistance' (Rc, s m-1), which describes the resistance of a surface (land/vegetation) to gas/particle flux.


The surface here is the canopy. The "canopy resistance" is also a commonly used terminology. It isa function of the canopy stomatal resistance (Rstom),the canopy cuticle resistance (Rcuticle), and the soil resistance (Rsoil). Note that in the case of ozone the uptake by the cuticle is small compared to the uptake through the stomata [Kerstiens and Lendzian, 1989], which means that the cuticle transfer pathway can be neglected in the model parameterization [see Ganzeveld and Jos Lelieveld , 1995; http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/95JD02266/pdf].


These names are still under discussion.
