I thought the discussion had reached a conclusion so in fact I have already added maximum_over_coordinate_rotation_of_sea_ice_horizontal_shear_strain_rate maximum_over_coordinate_rotation_of_sea_ice_horizontal_shear_stress in this week's standard name table update. Martin has said he is okay with these too, so we will leave them exactly as they are!
