@Dave-Allured : Sorry, I misunderstood that bit about data types. You mean that the convention should accept having, for instance, `calendar` as a string variable on the main variable and a character array on the bounds variable? This looks likely to cause confusion, as some software may consider them as different. Wouldn't it be better to at least recommend that they have the same data type?
