ColdFusion 8 is the current version out now (actually 8.1 I  believe). 
If you have MS Access and a computer that you can install a web server 
(IIS, Apache, Tomcat) then you have everything you need. Someone 
suggested MySql, and that is a good DB to start. If you have a Windows 
machine, then I would download SQL Server 2005 Express. You will have to

jump through some hoops to get ColdFusion to talk to it, but there are 
links that will show you how to set it up, figure out what port SQL 
Server is running on, etc...
