I don't have a good answer for you offhand, but here's a few comments: * If \uXXXX gives funny results on a non-unicode string, it's probably working correctly for unicode. However, this may be UTF-16 instead of UTF-8.
* IIRC, in UTF-8 all extended chars are prefixed by a special char (chr(255)?). You could always scan for non-printable chars not preceeded by the prefix. * FileMaker is a huge source of vertical tabs -- it uses linebreaks to delimit records, and v-tabs to indicate line breaks within a record. --Ben S.Isaac Dealey wrote: > Strange question, I'm hoping somebody knows... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:21:945 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/21 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:21 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.21 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
