Unfortunately, there's no way to turn SmartHeap off. As a point of trivia,
SmartHeap has been in there for a while. It's the way Allaire's using
SmartHeap in 4.5.x that's different.

Allaire has always favored performance over everything else, including
stability. I'd like to see Allaire implement some hooks into the service to
allow system administrators to choose the balance between performance and
stability that they want.
