My .02...

1. Time to market/productivity - Even the best Java IDE (at least the one's
ive seen) cant approach the level of productivity/ease of use of Cold
Fusion/Cold Fusion Studio.

2. Ownership - if you client is not Java saavy, and they ever hope to own
the project, it will be easier for them if it is in CF.

3. Best tool for the job - use CF for your display logic and handlers, and
call EJBs, COM objects, or servlets from CF when you need
"robust"/transactional functionality.

Of course, if your team is full of experienced Java developers, then my .02
is not really applicable.

Can anyone out there tell me why I should use Cold Fusion instead of J2EE?
Medium size project, oracle db. Money not really an issue and neither is
time.

Isn't this kind of a general question? I mean this is basic SQL and
Database
knowledge?

What kind of db are you using?

Subject: getting datatype information for the columns in a query

Greetings,
How do I access the names of different columns in a CF query object?

How do I get information about their datatypes?

regards,
Pinkesh
