Just use relative includes. This can be a pain if you move directories
around much and are constantly restructuring the directory tree, but it's
probably a good idea anyway to design the directory structure before you
begin your application. If you find yourself changing it much it's probably
a good indication that you haven't given enough thought to the application
design before you began coding.
I seldom use mappings, but it would seem a more likely use would be to allow
multiple sites to share files from a common directory rather than the other
way around.
