Yes, we are only using MS clustering. No Cluster Cats is used in our
setup, basically because it was too CF-centric and we needed something
to watch our disks, web server etc also.

I'm not sure if we could use a HW load balancer in today's setup to
achieve load balancing as well, but that's something I will look into.
We originally ordered a Cisco Local Director with the two servers we
cluster, but returned it when we threw out Cluster Cats. It was a
reduce-features-to-have-something-done decision. :)

As for the hardware-only solution; I'm not sure. I think the HW needs to
get its information from a piece of software - that's why you write the
probes. The probe checks a web page for some "I'm OK"-type text and
regardless of what kind of error occures it switches to another server
when "I'm OK" is not found.

And yes, these seem like basic questions, but some of them still puzzles
me. :)
