Well, I managed to resolve this problem, and it was what you mentioned. In
my spool folder I had a 0 byte file, that when I opened it in notepad was
completely empty of ANY text or anything. CF could not send it, obviously,
as it did not know where to send it, or I guess what else to do with it.
>From the replies I have had, here and elsewhere, it seems as though this is
a well known problem. Does anybody have any idea why this happens, and if
there is anything you can do to prevent it. It sounds as though I am not
the only one who would be interested to know. I know there are some
Allaire/Macromedia people on the list, maybe they can shed some light on it.

Also, and just a little side note. What are people's thoughts on the
Allaire/Macromedia Knowledge Base? For this problem, and for problems I
have had previously, I have almost never been able to get resolution using
the CF Knowledge Base. I either get hundreds of irrelevant results (using
the 'Any Words' option), or no results (using either the 'Phrase', or 'All
Words'). I mainly work on administration of the CF server, and so this is
where most of the issues I deal with lie. Developers I have talked to said
they have had better luck finding solutions to development problems, but as
far as administration of CF Server goes, I have had none!

Anyway, thanks for the help folks.

Thomas.

This is coming from left field, but it is something that has happened
to me. CFServer could be choking on an email. For whatever reason,
CFServer attempts to sweep the email from the spool directory and will
not send it, let go of it (you have to stop CF in order to delete it),
nor will it copy it to the undelivr folder. I had a 2 processor server
run a constant 50% CPU utilization.

I have a bit of an emergency. Within the last couple of days, CF Server
has
begun to lock up intermittently, whereby it takes 100% of the processor,
and
won't let go!! Now it just locks up like this, and nothing will stop
it. I
