  Ask the ISP if he will give you a better rate if the database server 
isn't connected to the internet or even their local network...

THEN
use PCANYWHERE to manage the webserver, and when you need access to the 
database server, run PCANYWHERE on your webserver to connect to the 
database server.    (Let me say that again:  you use PCAnywhere on your 
home computer to access the webserver, which then uses pcanywhere to access 
the database server.)

This makes it harder for kids to break into the webserver.  Make sure that 
you use a really good password for pcanywhere, and that it requires encryption.


I would also set up an job in sql server to backup the data to a directory 
on the web server that is not accessible to the web.  Use PC Anywhere to 
back up the data onto your home computer.
