Thanks!

Actually, I'm using Term Services to both, so what do you think of this
option:

1) disable the lan on the DB server's public card Using properties in the
local area connection.

2) Term Services through the private net.

3) leaves me physically connected to the net incase i need it, just enable
the lan.

4) Re: backup, the DB server actually has the Tape and backs up both
machines

   Even more reason not to!
Ask the ISP if he will give you a better rate if the database server
isn't connected to the internet or even their local network...

THEN
use PCANYWHERE to manage the webserver, and when you need access to the
database server, run PCANYWHERE on your webserver to connect to the
database server. (Let me say that again: you use PCAnywhere on your
home computer to access the webserver, which then uses pcanywhere to access
the database server.)

This makes it harder for kids to break into the webserver. Make sure that
you use a really good password for pcanywhere, and that it requires
encryption.

I would also set up an job in sql server to backup the data to a directory
on the web server that is not accessible to the web. Use PC Anywhere to
back up the data onto your home computer.
