Hi.
I am trying to figure out why my website is responding so
slowly.. Nothing has changed on the server (except maybe the new service
pack for windows 2k advanced server?).. and this is a fairly recent
problem. It used to pop up immediately.
I am thinking it is a network problem. The performance monitor reports
that the average request time is 14msec. The traffic on the site is not
terrible.. right now there are 42 users on it and the cpu average is at 22%
When I do a tracert to the site, virtualtrials.com, most hops are
0-10msec, except for the last 2.. the one that goes into my ISP is
about 150msec and the last hop to my server is about 300msec.
The server is co-located at my isp. I have a 100mbps connection into my
computer. It is a dual 1000mhz pentium4, 1 gig ram, plenty of hard disk
space, CF 4.5
Are these numbers terrible? Is there any way to speed it up - or find
where the problems is, or is it time to move?
