Thanks for the reply!  You really spend a lot of time on these lists and provide a lot 
of good help.
You answered a question that I've been looking for clarity on. (Can't configure MX to 
work on a lower level than a web site)
(For those that are yet to encounter running CF5 and MX simultaneously,)
I installed MX on IIS, then installed CF5 and that worked without using the connector 
to switch MX over.  Before installing MX though, I created a new web site, assigning 
it to a different http port, and gave that site a new home directory, then told MX 
that was my home directory for the site MX was to work with.  Of course, instead of 
using a different port number, I could have assigned the second web site another IP, 
but I didn't want to bother with getting a static IP from the admin.)

Install CF MX in standalone configuration. Then use the connector script 
manually to connect whatever extension/website you like to CF MX. You 
can't do this at a more detailed level as a website though.
