I would look at the cgi output. I would bet everyone is getting the same
variables. If you can, bypass the proxy.
Or have them do a cfoutput to check variables, the problem is with the
proxy server and its ability to cache a particular page.
If the site runs fine from a local call, but fails through the proxy,
you have found your problem.
I would check to see if they are doing any cfhttp(s) , cfexecute,
cffile, etc. These can be problematic through a proxy (along with
variable output)

Subject: Restarting

Hello All, new member here.  I have been pulling my hair out for 2
months over this one, searching all message boards, googling, buying
books, etc.

Here is the issue, we run quite a few sites on our server at work, about
50 is a good guess.  All of a sudden one day (when a new site went live)
we have since that day been getting regularly 6-8 cold fusion restarts a
day.  Since we use session variables and they all go bye bye, our
clients have been pissed for 2 months.

We have tried EVERYTHING, we have reinstalled CF.  We have locked all
session variables, fixed all ODBC and CF errors, run virus and memory
scans, updated to latest bug fixes, everything that google may bring up
in the first 1000 sites we probably have done.

The problem is its just as bad.  This one site that just went up though
uses a proxy server, and the site is the homepage for the entire entity.
So when a lab gets used, everyone on the lab is hitting our site
constantly everytime they open an IE window.   My question to you guys
are:

1)  Would 1/2 finished pages possibly raise unreturned thread count to
restart the cf service?  Our thinking is that possibly these people are
not waiting for their homepage to finish before going off to internet
land, as our log files seem to attest to.

2)  Can a screwed up proxy server cause memory problems with CF.  If
they are caching cookies or something, could that possibly screw up the
server?

Any ideas ?

Almost hopeless
