The question is very dependent on your application. Can you tell me a  
little more about how you use CFMX? Is is the install straight CF or is  
it CF on J2EE? Is the database on the same server? Is there anything  
else on this server(mail, ftp, etc) or is strictly CF only? I assume  
you meant GB not MB or ram, and in most cases I would think 2 GB would  
be sufficient, but once again, I don't know if your app works with  
particularly large data-sets, is extremely calculation intensive, etc.  
If you can describe your app(s) and your budget and I would be more  
than happy to send you a few suggestions.
