Further digging reveals that "Verity does not support VSpider on Linux."

Darn.

eeerrrr.... Thats a matter for debate... but lets not get into that. I
know a man who could argue it all very eloquently because thats his job,
but I can't....

hmmm.. well - in that case - I would expect that you would just be able
to point cfindex at the folder where the xml files are and away it
should go. Having never tried indexing XML files, there might be that
its a restriction on the version of verity in CF that prevents this.

Its been a while since I installed MX, so I'm having to root through the
cobwebs of my mind, but I do think that installing verity K2 components
is optional, so yes they may have left it out. Incidently, if you can
use K2 it is much better than the standard verity engine in CF Server,
so a little research into K2 (go prepared with the answer to "why?" I
used to work in IT Support ;)) and speaking to your IT department might
be a good plan.

Sorry this has all gone a bit vague and woolly.

Regards

Stephen
