If you are passing username etc then you were indeed on MX. SMTP
authentication only came into being with MX.

This is how I did it and it was quite awile ago so I don't think we were on
MX.

<cfmail
to="#form.recipientemail#"
from='[EMAIL PROTECTED]'
server="mydomain.com"
username="bob"
password="wanda"
subject="Message for you">

On some servers, the domain name in the email used to send the mail needs to
be hosted on the same server you are using in the tag.

Hope this helps.
Priscilla

Hi

Can you do SMTP Authentification within the CFMAIL tag in CF5?

Or is it only MX?

Thanks
Dave
