Amen!
I think the concept of RDS is so great, and I was so psyched about the new
features in 4.5, but alas, what a pain. Working with Projects is ridiculous.
If I have a project open, and save a new file, RDS starts doing something
and hangs up CF Studio for like 60 seconds or so. This is even if I have
saved the file locally and it doesn't even belong in the project. It's doing
something with the RDS server, cuz I can see my DSL router going nuts. Why
does Studio need to communicate to the remote server when I save a file
locally?
Also, the deployment thing is a let down. I have tried and tried to get it
to work, but everytime I run a deployment, it just skips every file, saying
there is a newer version on the server no matter what. Even if I know I made
modifications. And of course, frequent Access Violations.
I am using 4.5.1 RC 2 and have submitted bugs to the beta forum, but haven't
gotten much response.
I wish I could believe that all this is due to the fact that I'm using a
beta, but I just don't have the confidence that all these issues will be
fixed.
Oh well, it's still a superior tool. It's nice to vent though.
