The violation I was talking about is say you go to your homepage and it is
index.cfm it loads up and then you realize you need to edit something. So
you go and try to open it up and that's when it says share violation. If it
were already open though I am able to overwrite it. Just very annoying to
have to download the file to do it.

I've never seen these errors, but while we're on the topic of RDS, I'm
wondering if anyone else finds it as buggy as I do. Don't get me wrong, the
Debugging works and perks like being able to see database field names, is
terrific, but the file management features really need work.

1) I find copying files to the server slow and unpredictable. You never
know if you're going to be able to move a folder to the server or not

2) You cannot copy an entire Folder from the server down to your local drive
in NT Explorer using RDS. You have to copy the individual files
instead...and if you're lucky, they won't be zero length files when you get
them.

3) Creating folders and renaming files on the remote server through RDS is
rediculous and tedious. There's no apparent way to do it directly. You
have to right-click and then choose Create folder or rename file...

There are other problems I can't think of right now. If anyone has any
thoughts about this, I'd definitely like to hear them. I wish I was "just
doing something incorrectly" but it seems to me that there isn't much room
for a mistake here. On the other hand, there didn't seem to be any mention
of this on the Allaire KB. I am using CF Server 4.5 and Studio 4.51 RC 2.

IS there a setting that can maybe make it so the RDS server doesn't run
into sharing errors. IT's really annoying when I have to download a file in
order to edit it. Has anyone found a workaround for this?
