I have a client who's proposing to use CF with an access database under th
ecircumstances listed below, and I'd like the views of this list as to
whether you think it's going to work satisfactorily.
While I've used access before, I have only used SQL with ColdFusion so I
dont have any direct experience with this combination.
Here's the deal I'm to work with (if i accept his plan):
Hosted at www.Netnation.com
An Access97 database of 20,000 clients, with 6 tables.
up to 25 sales people accessing and updating this database from anywhere
round the USA.
It's not for widespread use by the client's customers, but I wouldn't be
surprised if that comes up while development proceeds.
The purpose of the site is to be a client tracking application, for
internal use only, but put on the web so the sales people can update their
records anywhere any time.
Will that work? Meaning wil the performance of this be too bad or will
Access be able to cope?
Cheers,
Mike Kear
