We are currently updating remote database servers from Orange County, CA to
PSI in Virginia. We are going through the internet. I do not recommend
this approach if your databases are large. Going through the internet is
slow, sometimes time outs, and gets corrupt If a router goes down
somewhere, you out of luck.

I have recommended a Private Virtual Circuit to upper management, but the
cost was too much. I have to deal with what I have.

SQL does a great job of remote updating, but I recommend a infrastructure
to support it.
