Perhaps not. This password program you refer to, is it some special code
or are you using the BASIC AUTHENTICATION that is part of the web server???
It you are using simple then the username / password are "simple encrypted"
and available to your CFM code.
You could also then map the PDF extension to the CFM engine, and have
application.cfm that would intercept all calls to the PDFS, then
deliver them via a CFCONTENT tag as appropriate.
