Well, you're not off base, but there's not a whole lot to be done about it,
either. This same issue comes up for any new service - you want to allow IM,
for example, you've got to open a port; you want to allow NetMeeting, you've
got to open a port, etc. Not everything can be delivered over TCP/80.

So, yes, the firewall issue does challenge penetration; if the service
becomes popular enough, there will be pressure on network administrators to
allow that traffic, I suppose.
