Here's the skinny I'm being told that my company wants to replace our current CF system with a "off the shelf" system. The off the shelf system meets our needs but it written in CGI & runs on a Sun box. (Our current system blows, but we're rebuilding it internally) The new system works with an Informix DB, that is nothing more than flat files on the Solaris system. We currently are running CF 4.5.2 and SQL Server 7. The off the shelf system doesn't use an object oriented programming techniques of any kind, as stated so in a meeting with their lead developer. I voiced my fears of limiting our options, by my opinion stepping back in time to CGI. Can any one help me in "Manager Speak" convince them that even though the new app works, that any future development would be faster or better with CF.
