functionally wouldn't that be similar to a typical magazine app?

ie post article, followed with discussion?

You could have the article posted to cf talk, and Michael's thread linking
thing track the discussion related to the article.

and/or you could relate past archive threads to articles.

a page layout might be:
[ article ] [author]
[ article ] [links ]
[ article ] [cftalk]
[ article ]
[proceeding discussion]

where author is a picture and brief description of poster.
links: related links - example apps, downloads, other related articles
cftalk: related threads in cftalk archive

when the article is published it is sent to cftalk for discussion, as well
as allowing web based participation in the discussion. all web based
submissions are in turn sent to cftalk and archived.

You might use the articles and discussions to feed into a best practices
(web) publication or something. ie Problem. Resolve. Related Articles and
Discussion.

ie after discussing a topic to death we can summarize as a best practice
entry, and link all discussions and articles back and forth

Has anyone ever tried to set up a mail list that could be used for a
scheduled Q&A with a set topic? Something like on Monday someone would let
all the house of fusion lists know the topic and then people could spend a
week talking about it. The topics could range from verity to security.

I see it like this.

The topic is set. Maybe even get a guest speaker for the topic.
Everyone is notified and a seed email is sent to get the conversation going.
Then the topic could be beaten to death with questions until the topic is
closed.

This would all be in Michael's archives for people to be able to go back
over at a later time.

What do you guys think.
