In the process of upgrading to CFMX we are also trying K2 for the first time. I was really expecting a huge improvement in performance but am getting about the same results as VDK searches.
I'm now messing with the numThreads and maxfiles settings in the INI file. Just wondering if you really found a marked improvement between the two. Please note that the collections are brand new and not fragmented. Note that there are about 50 collections. But even searching thru 1 is slower than expected.
