As long as your login details are on the SQL Server machine, then what I do
is use the IP of the server as the server name, and it works fine (as long
as TCP/IP is set-up in your Dial-up config)
One problem I have is that under Win98 I can't Import or Export data - this
only works for me under NT. Don't know if it's a real problem, but since
I've got a NT Server machine beside me, I can use that <g>
