I have to agree with the second one. I have seen people with book smarts who just aren't able to apply their knowledge to real-world applications. I have yet to work with someone without a CS degree who I didn't think could benefit from some computer science knowledge, though. I do understand that they don't necessarily have to sit through computer classes to gain that knowledge. >Its as though everything they know came from a book.
