If it's got to be a laptop, I have to weigh in on the windoze side. Too many driver/hardware problems with my laptop and RedHat Linux, so I use w2k. The only thing I miss on it from my rh linux server is postGreSQL (windoze version in beta). For dbs, I use MSDE and mySql.
