So I take it there is no kind of legal repercussion for someone else
using your serial number? If they steal it and you've got it registered
are you held liable? Why would that variable even be accessible in CF
anyway? Why on earth would you ever need to output that information?

And that's beating the system, the semi-legitimate way.  Anyone really
wanted to beat the system to visit alt.binaries.warez.*, any number of
websites, or any number of IRC channels (not to mention FTP sites,
etc.).

Point is, while I can't really think of a legitimate reason for needing
access to the serial number, it doesn't really make life any easier for
someone interested in "leeching warez."
