For my 2 cents; I'm not concerned with the Java relationship--can't say I really 
understand it!
There were a number of changes/improvments in cf5. I'm glad I had the work with 5 
before going to MX. Although reasonable, there is a learning curve for MX, especially 
if want to take advantage of its features. Coupling that with learning curve for 5 
would have been tough for me. I feel I'm just getting knowledgable about CF, and can 
only take small bits of learning curves. Don't know the economics of 4 to 5 then to 
MX, but if not a deal-breaker, I'd opt for 5 first. That's just my thought. I'm sure 
those with more expertise/confidence than I might not hesitate to go 4 to MX.
