That's what I was hoping the situation might be. I'm in over my head on this list, so the "high-level" discussion can be a little overwhelming. I'm just hanging around trying to learn something and see what people's experiences with the whole MX line have been.
I've learned in other product lines to wait until updates and new versions have been in the field for awhile and have the bugs shaken out before depending on them for business critical function... Your comments are encouraging, however... You will have no problem with MX. If you want to dig deeper you can, but it is not necessary. You should be no more worried that MX is holding hands with Java, then 4.5 is holding hands with C. Using CF 4.5.2 (still...) I will bring this up, however. I have been considering going to MX just to get up to date, but I'm a little frightened by the fact that CF is now holding hands with Java, or however it's actually been changed. This is a major concern for me because I have no Java experience and most of the problems and solutions I see expressed here on CF-Talk just leave me bewildered. With no training or background in Java, I'm lost... and many of the server problems seem to involve the Java aspect. Setup seems a lot more complicated than with 4.5, etc... Just feeling a little insecure about moving to newer versions, except perhaps CF 5, but that probably won't be available for much longer. (Would love to be able to do a Query of Query...) Back here in the dark ages of 4.5.2, I'm still comfortable... It gives same as the dump tag (and maybe more). Great to see what is being generated with a query, structure, etc, as well as a visual rendering which can help understanding.
