I expect them to fix it and some applications to break or worse, to
exhibit weird behavior because of it. I think it is very similar to the
struct looping issue. In previous versions of CF, struct values were
stored in the order of their keys. Macromedia never guaranteed that
behavior, but many people wrote code assuming that the keys would be in
order. With CFMX, their code still functions, but behaves quite
different.
