Not exactly the answer I was hoping for  (-;

I've had it work on both my desktop and my laptop. I've got the full
version of Adobe Acrobat 4.0 on my desktop, but I'm pretty sure I've only
got the free writer on my laptop, which is why I discounted that initially.
I'll have to go check and see what version I have on my laptop.

So, it sounds like you're saying I've got to create the PDF on the fly
server-side, right? That would be a better solution anyway--I hate the way
the FDF/PDF merging happens anyway.

Thanks, though. If anybody knows of a way other than activepdf, I am, like
Ross Perot, all ears.

I assume you have the full version of Acrobat on your machine, right?
Merged PDFs like that can not be saved on machines that only have Acrobat
Reader, but can be on machines that have non-free versions of Acroabt (such
as the full version and probably some of the cheaper "lite" versions).

The only way around this (short of buying Acrobat for all your users) is to
actually create PDFs with the info filled in (not via the FDF method).
http://www.activepdf.com/ is one way, but it's pricey. I believe there are
cheaper ways to do it, which I'm sure someone else will recommend.
