If you pass it with Flash remoting then it should be fine, probably faster than cfgrid. Datagrid is a little slow compared to many expectations, but it's very configurable (i.e., you can leave out features you don't need to speed things up).
What would be really nice is to have a CF wrapper to a datagrid.swf to completely replace cfgrid without any flash programming (other than the pre-built swf). Mike, can you get this added to the wishlist for a future DRK?
