yeah, i know, but for a small mailing list, of women who sign up
to a curves for women mailing list, like 1-200 maybe...it shouldnt
choke?

My experience shows that there really is no noticeable difference in the
two. I typically use the cfmail tag with the query attribute. Be careful
though of using this for bulk emails. cfmail is not designed for heavy
duty
email campaigns.
