If you have been fooling around with this since Friday, you are investing more time that you had initially planned. You might better use your time rebuilding the machine. Just using it for CF and putting the IDE on it should only take at max 3-4 hours. In that way you would know that your machine is right and/or potentially isolate problems. During your windows installation you would not even have to install IIS, because it has it's own internal server.

AMAZING Regular readers to this list will be aware that I have been wrestling with installing CFMX since last Friday to no avail. I decided to see if Macromedia would back me up as a reseller and developer, and I called their support line. I got connected to their Manilla office and Pauline's response was that I couldn't even talk to a support person unless I paid US$500. IN other words, I have downloaded the CFMX, it doesn't install correctly, for whatever reason, I can't make it work, no one else can either apparently, and Macromedia aren't going to try unless I cough up nearly 2/3 of the cost of a server. That's to evalutate it!!! I guess I'm just not meant to be in the MX world.
