I've found in such instances that if I simply reopen the DSN definition in
the CFMX Admin and save it/test it, it works fine the second time. Have you
tried that?

I also have a pointer to info on another possible problem when trying to use
Access datasources in CFMX. See my blog entry of 11/17, at
