Peter, FYI, Microsoft doesn't support software after a certain number of years.
All of my numbered statements below were specifically about ColdFusion Studio/Homesite+, not about Studio MX. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Tilbrook" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 8:59 AM Subject: RE: Homesite + question <snip> > 3) There has been no marketing for the product for 2 years. > > Studio MX is very highly publicised. And how much of that publicising talked about Homesite+? How much of that sold Homesite+ standalone? We are on the CF-Talk list, but my point was in support of my contention that Homesite+ is dead. It may be lingering about, but nevertheless the fact that Macromedia themselves don't actively support it with the same type of support of all of its other products, despite Homesite predating the majority of their product line, is a sure sign of decay... > 6) There is no additional support for some of the new functionality in CFMX > (xml, components, etc), some of which does have additional support in DWMX. > > I totally disagree with this as the free 5.2 updater brings you well up to > speed. I disagree with your disagreement, documentation which is also available at http://livedocs.macromedia.com/ is not what I meant by support. Where is the Component Explorer in Homesite+? <snip> Calvin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=4 FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4
