We recently purchased Macromedia Generator 2 and have been attempting to
use cfx_generate in order to use the offline generation features. The
problem is, that when we run cfx_generate, nothing noticable happens. It
doesn't generate an error, doesn't log anything when cfx_generates logging
is turned on (and debuging is turned on). When we run the equivalent
commands from the command line (generate.exe -jpg pathtofilename blah blah
blah) it runs just fine. So thinking that it might be a problem with
cfx_generate, I installed cfx_shellexec and tried running the same file and
arguments. Once again, nothing happened. I tried creating a batch file
that simply writes out a text file. The .bat file can be run from the
command line, but cfx_shellexec doesn't appear to run the .bat file. I
checked directory permissions, and IIS has execute permissions and the
SYSTEM account has full control on that directory. I can write to the
directory using CFFILE. Finally, we installed cfx_spawnexec and looked at
it's return codes. It doesn't return any errors or anything else, but
still does not execute the batch file (or the generate.exe).

Other cfx tags on this machine work (cfx_zip for instance). It appears
that I can't run any executables which write out files. Any idea why? I
also tried this procedure on another NT machine here, and it fails, but
we've gotten it to work on a W2K development machine. Ideas?

Machine: NT 4, SP 5, CF Enterprise 4.0.1, all CF tags enabled, only basic
security setup.

Thanks,
Judah
