What I mean is that dpi just doesn't mean anything as far as the image itself is 
concern:
- dpi is important as a parameter for the scanner;
- dpi is important as a parameter for the printer.
but as a parameter inside an image it just does mean anything.
I know that some image format contain some resolution value, but this it still does 
not make sense.
You can still print a 72 dpi image at 600 dpi if you want and vice versa.
The resolution is a measure proper to a piece of equipment, not to an image.
You can have the same image with 3600 pix at 72dpi with 300 pix at 1200 dpi, the 
better one
for printing is still the first one, never mind the resolution.

So you should only care the size of the image, forget the resolution.
