I still think it should be an option. That way those of us with it on will see the red and understand. Not everyone can get FTP access out of the office to put things up in a website and some companies (my last one) hasve really strict firewalls on sites such as yahoo and what not that provide webspace.
Plain text is like speaking in a monotone. There is no emphasis on concepts, ideas, etc..
