It's easy, turn off the Auto Preview and then don't open messages that have titles like "RE: movie" from people you don't know that you didn't send a message titled "movie" to in the first place. :) There are ways to disable HTML email in Outlook, although they may be above the general user's head a company's IT staff could at least take action. Agreed, there should be a way to do this provided by Microsoft, but if you use Outlook and you see that this happens over and over with no response, then take action and put something in place to prevent this from happening until MS releases a patch or until you switch to something else. 1. Use a RULE to do something with mail that contains "text/html" in the message header. Flag it, popup a message, delete it, run a script against it, etc. 2. Also, I know that it's not FROM Microsoft, but you can disable HTML Email in Outlook: http://www.ostrosoft.com/vb/disable_html_email.asp 3. There's a plugin for Outlook Express: http://www.baxbex.com/nohtml.html For the record, I've used Outlook since it was Outlook 97 on the same computer and have upgraded through Outlook XP, have left the Preview Pane opened and have yet to get hit by any auto-execute email virus. Just don't read your junk mail. We did, however, get a virus on a secondary mailserver that doesn't even have a copy of Outlook installed and that is running Norton Anti-Virus Enterprise and iMail. Nothing is 100% safe, unless you unplug from the network. Joshua Miller [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|
