Well - that's Sean's opinion (and his forum for it, although Mike has never forbade anybody from complaining here). This honestly just lowers my opinion of Sean. He was unhappy with the change and voiced his opinion here, but was overridden. He may not be happy about that, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. His blog post is unconstructive, unhelpful and possibly harmful to this list. In my opinion he leveraged his position at MM (which brings him his popularity) to snipe at a community member (Mike) with which he had a personal issue. The post was unfair and seemed created from pure spite (since it was completely unconstructive and non-advisory). Sean's blog clearly states his position at MM, but fails to state that it contains only his personal opinion and that these posts do not necessarily reflect the thinking of MM. He's attacking Mike's decisions, his design and his site (by name) while wearing his "MM hat". I would be disappointed with his post were it from just anybody (working from the simple "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything" rule). But coming as it does from a prominent MM employee I think it's just plain shameful. CF-Talk has done more for the Allaire/MM community than perhaps any other. It's in MM best interests and has been from the start. One of the real strengths that CF has in this marketplace is the power of its very active community. MM needs to do everything in its power to promote and nuture that community. One last thing: This list is not a democracy. Sean's statement "people objected fairly strongly to this change when he announced he was planning it, yet he went ahead anyway." is just plain ridiculous. This list is a voluntary dictatorship. We pay nothing and are thus owed nothing. If Mike wants to make all posts neon green with purple flowers that's his prerogative and we'll have to live with it or drop off. Mike has done his level best to make the list as inviting as possible. That's to his credit, not to ours (or Sean's).
