Shared hosting + bad programming decisions = complete disaster.  This is
why I got a dedicated box.
I think there needs to be a CF hosting company which interviews each
developer before granting access to the machine.

That being said, if they have CF Enterprise Edition wouldn't that
sandbox users' ability to bring down the server?

Also, a SQL server, when using poorly designed database/query can be
just as bad is a well designed access database, which makes a shared
hosting company's reliability only as reliable as their clients'
database design --- we should add SQL to that interviewing process
above).

Basically they may be letting people use Access on high
bandwidth sites.
This will cause the CF server to stop operating.

Interesting. I will forward this to HostMysite.

  This was their reply:

  Hello,

Thank you for contacting HostMySite.com.  We apologize for the
brief
issue with your data source.  We have reset a service on the
shared
server that was running in high process and are now able to
reach and
  access
your DSN with no problem from the multiple tests we have done
for you.
If we may be of further assistance please let us know.  Have a
nice
  day!

Dave, I'll let them know about the db driver fix you mentioned
as well.

The Jrun closed connection is a bug in CFMX6.1, and there is
currently
  no
solid resolution to the problem.  Some people have had success
with a
  hotifx
on MM's site, but for others (such as myself), it has had no
effect.

  Good evening cf-talk!!

I am encountering some sporadic errors when trying to connect
to a cf
  server.

  Scenario 1

  Error Occurred While Processing Request
  Error Executing Database Query.
Timed out trying to establish connection

  Scenario 2

  Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to
complete your
  request.
  JRun closed connection.

I am using Sparkplug CMS and this is happening on the login
page in a
very sporadic manner. I had HostMySite verify the DSN and they
said it
was ok. He also did a stack trace and said it times out when
trying to
  establish a connection.

  Anyone seen this issue??

  Thanks in advance!!
