WMV is native to Windows, isn't it? As in installed by default? I'm reasonably sure I never have had to add anything to a win box to make it work.
The client I have who uses this format to send video customer service messages via email reports they work just great. They send several dozen per day. Sure glad I set them up so they don't use my mail server :D
