Yes, this is the case but it is one possible cause to your problem. My
partners PC is to all intents and purposes identical to mine however it does
not suffer from this problem and because I'm more technically adept than
most 'users', changing the priority is not a big deal for me.


You could try talking your user through using Task Manager exaplaining what
they must do as a dry run they try viewing the file and then getting them to
run through the process for real whilst you are still there so to speak. If
it fixes your issue, you at least know whos door to start beating on.....
