There are also arguments for the other side*:

MS software interacts with other software (IIS, SQL, etc.) better than
anything non-MS.

Ease and speed of programming is not the same as stability and speed of
the finished product.

ASP.NET is even less of a programming difference for existing VB
programmers (which is what it was meant for in the first place), so if
you already know VB or c# or any of the other languages that can compile
to CLR, interacting with the ASP.NET application model is a breeze.

There is plenty of free and open source ASP and .NET software out there.

Don't want to move away from windows, it's pretty stable these days, and
makes a good web server.

Self or managers have given in to the MS .NET marketing campaign.

* I don't necessarily agree with any of these, but I've heard them all.
